Integrating Alation with Josys enables the IT Admin to view and manage the user accounts.
Key benefits
When you integrate Josys with Alation, you can
- View: List of user accounts, including their status, roles, and timestamp of the user account creation and last login.
- Perform action: Send an email to another user.
Note: Josys supports multiple Alation integrations.
Prerequisites
Before you begin with the integration, make sure that you have:
- An Alation admin account
- An Admin URL, Client ID, and Client Secret.
- A Default plan
Locating the Client ID and Client Secret
Step 1: Log in to Alation with an account that has admin privileges.
Step 2: Click Settings in the top-right of the screen and then select Authentication.
Step 3: Click Add under the Auth tab.
Step 4: Provide a name to identify the integration.
Step 5: Select the Server Admin user role from the System User Role dropdown menu, then click Save.
Step 6: Copy the Client ID and Client Secret for later use in the integration steps, then click Close.
Steps to Integrate
Step 1: Select Alation from the App Catalog in the Apps section.
Step 2: Provide a suitable Label in the respective field.
Step 3: Enter the Admin URL that you used to log in to Alation in the respective field.
Step 4: Enter the Client ID and Client Secret in the respective fields copied in the previous section and click Next to proceed.
Step 5: After the integration is complete, allow some time for data synchronization. You can now view and perform required actions from the Managed Apps in the Apps section.
