Setting up two-factor authentication

Modified on Tue, 15 Aug, 2023 at 2:12 AM

At Josys, we prioritize the security and integrity of your data. That's why Josys supports two-factor authentication—a robust security measure that reinforces your account's protection.

Beyond just your password, two-factor authentication requires a second step of validation. After entering your password (the first factor), you'll also need to provide a security token generated by an authenticator app. This dual-layer approach significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized account access, ensuring your data remains secure.

Follow the steps below to enable two-factor authentication:

Step 1: Go to Security tab on the side panel and select Two-factor authentication.

Step 2: Click on Enable button to initiate the steps.

Step 3: Install an authentication app such "Google Authenticator" on your mobile device. This will be used as the second factor in the authentication flow.

If you are using an iOS device, download the app from App Store.
If you are using an Android device, download the app from Google Play.

Step 4: Next, register Josys with the installed authentication application. There are two ways to register,

Option 1: Scan the QR code shown on the Josys page using the authentication application (Google Authenticator).

Option 2: Alternatively, you can enter the [Account] and [Key] into the authentication application (Google Authenticator) to set it up.

Step 5: After finishing the aforementioned steps, a 6-digit code will appear on your Google Authenticator. Input this code into the designated box on the Josys page to complete the verification process.

From now on, you will be required to use two-factor authentication to login to the Josys portal.

Please note: Be sure to keep the backup code safe, in case you are unable to retrieve the verification code from the authentication application (Google Authenticator).
