How to Edit Configurations in Josys

The IT Admin can efficiently configure various alerts in Josys, customizing them based on severity and frequency.


Steps to edit configurations in Josys


Step 1: Navigate to the Settings menu on the left and select the Alerts Settings.


The Alert Settings screen allows you to view the following details:


  • All/Enabled/Disabled: Select a tab to view all alerts or filter by enabled or disabled alerts. By default, all alerts are displayed.
  • Alert Name: Displays the name of the alert.
  • Severity: Indicates the severity of the alert to assist in determining the necessary action.
  • Assignee: Shows the name of the user who will receive the notification for the specific alert.
  • Created/Modified By/At: Displays the name of the user who created or modified the alert, along with the relevant timestamps.



Alert Activation/Deactivation


Drag the toggle button to the left to disable the alert or to the right to enable it. The alert is enabled by default.



Steps to Edit/Configure the Alert


Step 1: To edit an alert, hover your mouse over the respective alert and click on Edit Alert.



Step 2: Complete the following configuration steps:


a) Alert Configuration: Customize settings based on the alert type.

  • Alert Type: Indicates the name of the alert.
  • Alert Conditions: This is based on the alert type. 
    • For the "MFA Disabled by user" alert, the MFA status, along with the App Name, which can be changed, is displayed.


  • For the "Privileged Access Granted to Shadow Account" and "License assigned to shadow accounts" alert, the User Type, Role, and App Name, which can be changed, are displayed.


  • For the "Device Approaching Decommission Date" alert, the scheduled decommission date is displayed, which can be changed.



  • Alert Frequency: Set how often the alert should be triggered.



Step 3. Click Next to proceed to the next step.



b) Assign & Notify: Manage alert assignments and notifications.

  • Select All Josys Admins & Super Admins: Display the alerts to all Admins and Super Admins in Josys.
  • Select Assignees: Send alerts only to the selected users.
  • Select Notify Selected Assignees via Email to send the email notifications, or enable Send Alert on Slack Channels to notify users via Slack.



Step 4. Click Next to proceed to the next step.


c) Summary: Review a detailed summary of the alert, including its name, severity, description, remediation steps, alert type, frequency, MFA status, assigned app names, users, alert triggered conditions, and Slack channel name.



 

Step 5: Click Save Changes after completing each step to proceed and save the alert configuration.
