Setup Slack Notifications from Josys

By default, IT Admins receive Josys Alerts via email. Currently, Josys supports ten types of alerts.  You can integrate with Slack or Microsoft Teams to receive these notifications in your workspace’s communication channel. 


Steps to Set Up Slack Notifications


Step 1: Log in to Josys using your admin credentials.


Step 2: Navigate to the Settings and select Notifications. By default, Email Notifications are enabled and cannot be disabled.



The alert is sent through email as below:



Step 3: Click the Link to connect your Slack with Josys.



Step 4: Select the Slack workspace to link to Josys, follow the guided steps to authorize Josys, and click Allow.



Step 5: After linking Slack with Josys, select the channel (public or private) where you want to receive Josys Alert notifications, then click 'Add Channel'.


The public channel looks like below:



The private channel looks like below:



Now the Slack channel is connected.



You will start receiving Josys's notifications on your connected Slack channel. 


When a license is assigned to a Shadow account, the following type of notification is sent to the IT Admin. 



Step 6: To unlink a Slack channel, click Unlink.



Steps to Edit a Slack Channel



Step 1: Navigate to the Settings and select Notifications. Locate the Slack Channel and click Edit Channel.



Step 2: Select the required channel from the Select Channel drop-down and click Update Channel to modify the channel.
