Gitlab Integration

Modified on Thu, 27 Jun at 7:39 AM

Integrating Gitlab with Josys enables the IT Admin to view the user accounts.

Key benefits

When you integrate Josys with Gitlab, you can view a list of user accounts, including details such as their status, roles, date and time of account creation, account expiration details (indicating the duration the account will remain a member of the group), and the associated group name.

Note: Josys supports multiple Gitlab integrations.

Prerequisites

Before you begin with the integration, make sure that you have:

  • A Gitlab admin account.
  • Group name and API token

Locating the Group name

Step 1: Log in to GitLab using an admin account. Click Search or go to.. on the left sidebar.

Step 2: Select View all my groups.

Step 3: Copy the Group name for later use in the integration steps.

Locating the API Token

Step 1: Select Edit profile from the User Avatar.

Step 2: Select Access Tokens from the navigation menu and click Add new token.

Step 3: Enter a Token name for identification. Select read_api from Scopes and click Create personal access token.

Step 4: Copy the Personal Access Token for later use in the integration steps.

Steps to Integrate

Step 1: Select Gitlab from the App Catalog in the Apps section.

Step 2: Provide a suitable Label for identification. Enter the Group name and API Token copied in the earlier sections and click Next to proceed.

Step 3: After the integration is complete, allow some time for data synchronization. You can now view and perform required actions from the Managed Apps in the Apps section.
