Assign Devices to Users and Update Device Status

Devices that are in available status can be assigned to users of your organization from device details page as well. Device details page displays the system defined fields with values for the selected device and also custom fields with values.

Sign in to the Josys portal with your Josys credentials.

Assigning devices to users:

1. Go to Devices tab on the left menu
2. Select the device that needs to be assigned. You can assign only devices in Available status
3. In the device details page select Assign button in Current Assignee section
4. In the Select Assignee dialog search for the user to be assigned and select the user
5. Click NextEnter the Assignment Date and click Assign
6. To add historical assignment of that device click Add button and follow the above steps

The status of the device can be updated from the device details page.

Updating device status:

1. Go to Devices tab on the left menu
2. Select the device whose status to be modified
3. Click on the status field under Asset Number and change the status to one of the three (Available, Decommissioned and Unknown)
