Edit, Delete, and Copy Device Data

You can easily edit, delete, and copy your device data with just a few clicks to keep your information up to date. If a device data is outdated or no longer required, it can be deleted with just a click.

Editing Device Data

Step 1: Log in to the Josys portal using your Josys credentials.

Step 2: Go to the Devices tab on the left navigation menu.

Step 3: Locate the device that you want to update. Click the Kebab menu (3 vertical dots) next to the record that you would want to edit and click Edit.

Step 4:  In the Edit Device screen, update the device record with the required information and click Save Device Details.

Deleting Device Data

Step 1: Go to the Devices tab on the left navigation menu.

Step 2: Locate the device that you want to delete. Click the Kebab menu (3 vertical dots) next to the record that you would want to delete and click Delete.

Step 3: A confirmation message appears from where you need to click Delete to remove the device. 

Once the device is removed, it will be deallocated from the user.

Copying Device Data

Step 1: Go to the Devices tab on the left navigation menu.

Step 2: Locate the device that you want to copy. Click the Kebab menu (3 vertical dots) next to the record that you would want to copy and click Create Copy.

Step 3: The Copy Device screen appears. Fill in the details for the new device, including the unique and mandatory Asset Number. Click Save Device Details.

You can also update and delete device data through the API.
