Integrate Google Workspace with Josys to:

  • Fetch User Accounts
  • View and Modify User License
  • Monitor Privileged Access and
  • Track Application Usage

Optionally use Google Workspace as your external data source and automate adding user data and ensure seamless synchronization.

Prerequisites:

You are required to have a Google Workspace account with admin privileges.

Optional: In some instances, users may need to enable Josys API access within Google Workspace. This is for Josys to sync data with Google Workspace. Refer to Whitelisting Josys App in the Google Admin Console to learn about the steps.

Steps to integrate:

Sign in to the Josys portal with your Josys credentials to initiate the integration process.

Step 1: Go to Apps tab on the side panel, and select Apps Catalogue.

Step 2: Select Google Workspace and Click on Integrate

Step 3: Enter an appropriate label to identify the integration and click on Sign in with Google. Ensure you sign in with a Google account having admin privileges.

Step 4: Ensure you grant access to all the scopes requested by selecting all the checkboxes. This will ensure Josys has the required permissions to fetch required user information from Google Workspace.

Step 5: Follow the steps prompted to complete the integration process after which accounts will be retrieved from Google Workspace and will be associated with users on Josys. Please note that this process may take some time, depending on the total volume of data.

Enabling Google Workspace as the External Data Source

Step 1: Go to Settings on the side panel and select External Data Source

Step 2: Click on Link next to Google Workspace. You will see a confirmation pop-up as below and click on Link to confirm.

Once the above steps have been completed, Josys will begin to retrieve user data from Google Workspace. Please note that this process may take some time, depending on the total volume of user data.

Upon successful integration, the Google icon will be displayed in the users' table, signifying the users who have been registered via this source.

If you want to integrate with other sources, you could check out Add users via External Data Source.
